Speaking on the subject, Aghasedo compared adult toys with everyday devices such as cars and phones, questioning whether their use should automatically be regarded as sinful.
“Is using a sex toy a sin? Let’s hear the grace. Let’s hear the grace. Is driving a car, is it a sin? A car to drive you from here to Dallas, is it a sin? Using the phone, is it a sin?” he asked.
The cleric said he had never personally used an adult toy but described such devices as products of modern technology that could assist married couples.
“I have never used a sex toy. Let me just say. But in this modern day of technology, it’s an equipment. It can help you do the job to 90%, and you finish the remaining 10%. I’m just being real. It can help you,” he said.
Aghasedo further revealed that he had previously recommended such a device to a married couple after considering their circumstances.
“I have suggested sex toy to a couple before, when I look at all the surrounding circumstances, so that somebody is not going out and all those things. I’m not joking. It’s an equipment to help, to help the process,” he stated.
However, the apostle emphasised that his position applied strictly within the context of marriage.
“Sex toy is only for married couple. We are talking within the framework of marriage, right? Not outside. It’s for married couples,” he said.
He added that, in his religious interpretation, using such an item outside the marital context was different.
“Now, if you engage it on your own, it’s called masturbation, and another word for masturbation is fornication. You get it? If you don’t get it, forget about it. It’s within the marital context. Alright?” he added.
